Pretty crappy pictures but I wanted to show my neighborhood.. I think the resizing makes them soft..

I really like the lines in the second image. Have you tried these as B&W conversions?

LOL! Yea, trying to get shots without including power lines is tough.. I should get you a wider view.. There are power lines about 50 yards from this spot.. I did a conversion with duotone and they are pretty cool.. Got to get them sized for the forum is all.. Thanks Chuck.. The Upper Manistee is beautiful.. Daylight comes a bit later in the river valley.. No great vistas but I love the intimacy of the closer view..

I like your last version, Susie. Are you sharpening before you downsize? If so, you might want to make sharpening your very last step, before saving as a Jpeg or try Marc Adamus' excellent technique that you can see at this link. http://pacificnw.naturephotographers.net/tips/photoshop.htm

I actually prefer the subtle colors in the originals. They definitely communicate a midwest winter feeling to me. Nice to see your home!

Thanks for the link, Toni.. :) I'll be looking at my sharpening techniques.. I do sharpen last but the size max is different here than at the other forums I post at so I'll have to adjust I guess and find a happy medium..
