After sunset didn't happen I shot this walking back to the truck. This is the best I've seen Tillamook Light House. I kept the WB on Auto to leave the tint blue ( this was shot after sunset).

Wow, it's blue. Maybe there should be more tonal separation between the water and sky. Also I notice a slight halo around the large sea stack. Jeez I'm being picky this morning.

Definitely good visibility of the lighthouse on this one. I'm just not sure the tonality works for me though....

I like the composition a lot, Jack - the lighthouse looks terrific! It's bold and blue, for sure, but that's more a matter of taste. My first reaction from the color was that it was a very early morning scene, shot just before dawn.

It IS a matter of taste, for sure. This shot works for me Jack... the blue is serene as can be, and upon viewing it drew me right in, and out of this flourescent-soaked office of mine. Great image, makes me miss home!
Tough to get myself involved in this shot, Jack. The scene has potential for sure, but the strong blue, the halos around the seastacks and the close proximity of the lighthouse to the right-most seastack are conspiring to create more tension than the scene can support, imo.

I totally agree with you all. This scene truly is a matter of taste. I was just into how clear the lighthouse was. I don't think I'd hang this one, but thought it was kind of interesting. To me it was one of those that I like ( the bluish tint) sometimes and other times I don't.
Thanks for all your inputs!

The blue is different. I dont totally mind it...heck somebody might buy it 'cause it matches their couch! I see some big jpeg artifacts there. Also, wish for a little more seperation between the right stack and the lighthouse...

I'm on the side of liking the blue Jack. I agree about the edges of the stacks and the separation of the lighthouse in the composition.
