I need help ID'ing the tree that is in the background here. This was shot in October at Kubota Garden in Seattle. Thanks in advance for any help. (No critiques please, it is what it is )

It looks like winged euonymus to me, aka "burning bush". The botanical name is Euonymus alatus (pronounced "you-on-ee-mus")

It would be helpful if you gave us some indication of scale, but Euonymus alatus aka burning bush looks right to me.

I believe it is "Burning Bush" too. I do have a Japanese Garden I.D. book at home and can also give you the Japanese name for the plant if you're interested. I will be back tomorrow.
