Although I've never tried selling my images in a market/fair/gallery sort of setting, I have donated quite a few to auctions and the like. Of the photos I have taken, my personal favorites are broad, wide vistas, so it always leaves me a bit disgruntled when this image is more popular.

Well, I can see why people like images like this. They are kind of whimsical and I think that tends to connect with a lot of people. This one surely connects with me. The only thing I might do differently is to crop from the top to landscape aspect so as to remove the OOF areas.
Ha, what a great shot, John! Those are monster eyes... Agree with Geoff on the crop, but it sounds like this shot is doing quite well as is, too. It's a fun one.
I share your pain about trying to figure out what the viewing public favors when it comes to putting down $$ for a print. Most of the images I've sold are of more intimate scenes. Then, again, that's mostly what I shoot!

That's a great shot, John! You could always photoshop the frog into a scene with a sweeping landscape for a backdrop... like those ever-present deer/fawns that always show up on Crater Lake postcards!

LOL! Good one Tom, I hadn't thought of that.

Totally neat! I need to get back up there now that I am so close to it...
