Trees in winter
OK. I have LOTS of now! Here is one. I worked on this image behind the camera for a long time, taking many different compositions. I am going to post two different renditions here and i would be curious to hear which is preferred and why. Canon 20D, Canon 28-135mm IS lens, tripod. Lisa

Here is the second rendition, a vertical from a slightly different angle.

Lisa,

I like the second photo better, because of its simplicity. I would clone out the black spot to the left and the black line near the top. Both photos are good. It is just a matter of taste.

Lisa. I like the color hues of the first photo, but would crop out the tree trunk on the right, although that might leave the viewer without a reference point for why there is a shadow.

John, I thought about cloning out the line, but wasn't sure. Here is a repost.

Pat, I tried cropping to remove the tree trunk in the top right but I founf that it anchored the photo and I do like the shadow cast by that tree and the tree tells you where the shadow comes from and even gives some indication of the time of day because of the long shadow.

Lisa,

A lot better. You could use the photo for a card.

Hi Lisa, I prefer the second shot also because of the simplicity. I didn't mind the cloned out areas either.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for being a part of getting this back up and active. I like the simplicity of the second shot, without the lack of texture of the third. The B&W treatment is supurb.

Second one for me Lisa, although the third might make a nice greeting card
