This fall while driving through a local park, I saw these sassafras saplings and fall leaves being backlit by the late afternoon sun. Does it work or is the image too busy? 60% Compression using Save for Web.

Oh Toni this is wonderful. I love the colors. I think it works as is. I would also be tempted to crop it to a vertical using only the left third of the image. (It's good to see some color. It's so drab here right now.)

Toni, the repeating verticals work very well here and I like the warm palette. My first thought when I saw this was "Jackson Pollock."

Looks like it would be a great jigsaw puzzle. I like it overall but I think I might up the yellow saturation a touch to show off the backlighting a bit more...just my 2 cents worth.

Thanks, Deb and Chuck. I do actually have a vertical of this scene, but it's more of the right side rather than the left, because it had more color in the background.
Toni, I have a sneaking suspicion that this is much better in person, in print, than the web can show. It's a little busy as a small JPEG on my work monitor, but I can imagine this being very nice in a larger print......Good eye to see this one.
Actually, why don't you send me a 16 x 20 and I'll keep it for, oh, 8-10 years and see how I feel after living with it a while......

Works for me Toni. The warm light is inviting, and the repeating verticals make for a strong composition. Personally, given the graphical composition, it doesn't strike me as that chaotic. I bet it will look very nice in print!
