Whiskered Tern
This picture dates back to this summer when my photobuddy and I went to the Brenne in France. We both had our floating hide with us and we had the luck to find a little lake where the terns where still breeding. (It was a bad year for the terns because it was hot in march and april and it rained all june. Lots of the nests where overflowed)

We went in the water very early when it was still dark and waited till the terns started fishing. They where not at all afraid and it was really cool to see these animals snap fishes out the water right in front of the hide. It wasn't easy to take shots of them while flying but I managed it a couple of times.

I'd like to know what you think of this one!

Nice sharp picture Sam, from a great PoV. Lots going on and potentially better IMO. Ideally for me, the bird would be facing more towards the camera than away from it, but I appreciate that they never follow the stage directions and we have to picture what they do rather than what we want them to. Most of all though I would try and do something with the Oof 'rabbit' in the bottom left corner. I think then that the young bird that it is returning to feed would be more obvious.

What a location indeed - this is a nice picture that with a little more luck would have been a stunner: that said it's not down to the photographer me thinks so big :toast: for all the effort involved.
