I'm a member of RMNP forum so hope it's OK to ask a question. Am heading to SE Spain (Alicante) in early March and would like any and all advice on places to photograph within a fairly wide range, we have ten days. All suggestions welcome.
thanks all,

Ah - visited this area a few times in early spring - I only found 2 places to photograph local to Alicante, finding them took me days even with maps and directions as signage in that part of spain is well and truly hopeless, the main reserve I visit is Clot de Gaveny an important wetland reserve but deep in housing and indiustrial devbelopment areas - an important breeding site for white headed duck
There is a good webite by a local birder who organises trips which may be your best bet - you can waste bucket loads of time without local knowledge- I will find and post here later
Just a general observation - March is very early, the waders and passerines will not be in from Africa so that leaves the endemic species - Unfortunately I found that area of Spain is desperately dull and not at all photogenic for landscape stuff either it is so heavily developed with holiday chalet towns.
Hi Mike
I live in Spain so drop me a line and i can sort you out. Steve

Apologies for the delay, my work commitments changed somewhat yesterday
The guide I was thinking of was Rama Oliva, his website is here
There also used to be a Costa Brava Bird Club website detailing all the local reserves, but I cannot locate it at present, so it may have evapourated into the ethernet

Thanks for all the help folks, I'll search for the bird club.
