Ortonized Winter !
Another snowshoe adventure and nothing but blizzard conditions. It has been great to bring out just a Canon G9 instead of lugging the 5D and tripod around for miles in the snow ! So i thought I would have fun with it and spice it up by "ortonizing" the image. I am just having fun with it and I am sure most people wont like it but I am trying to get creative when there is nothing but crap weather here in Washington !

Thanks for looking !
Canon G9 ISO 100 f/4 1/320 Sec

I can say I enjoy your creative outcome here, Kevin. It feels way cold and desolate here...

What could be better on a cold winter evening than a cup of hot chocolate and the Orton Effect? Nice composition of the three.

The sense of cold and desolation is portrayed well! :toast:

It's hard for me to tell what the Orton effect actually did to this scene. Can you post one of the unaltered images?

Kevin, this might not match your demographic, but when I saw this, it looked artificial - and I could picture the abominable snowman from the old Rudolph animation walking through the scene, herky-jerky style, waving his arms, eyes rolling... hmmm... I guess you have to be there!

Very cool (please pardon the pun). I agree that it's hard to see the Orton effect, but whatever the case, I really like it. It grabs me and holds my interest. I can feel the cold and the stillness. Excellent job! :toast:

I sure like the comp on this. Glad it's not ortonized too much, as I wouldn't call this a "dreamy" scene that the orton effect creates. It seems just like the right amount to convey the cold and the stillness.

I went Ortan crazy for a bit when I first found out about it!
