Had to take a work related run up north and happened to pack the camera.. This shot was taken from the car at an exit from the expressway.. Man! We got some serious rain on this day!

I think these are the victims of 'too much information'. You portray a cool mood, but I found it hard to find a defined subject and I just get lost in the fog at the top.. In the first one I think there is a very good composition, in a vertical orientation, in the left quarter to third. And in the second one there is another good comp if you zoomed in on the group of trees on the right. Just my opinion. Often times when I don't get it right in the field I study to find the image within the image. I consider it visual practice for the next time I'm out in the wild.

Sorry for not commenting on these earlier, Susie. I've been mainly skimming the forum this past week for new threads and missed this post.
I tend to agree with Jeff here. These images might make better vertical compositions and I'll make the suggestion that maybe cropping part of the foreground off would put the focus on the trees and fog, where it belongs.

Thank you for your replies! I was having trouble getting here in the last few days... I see what you mean about no focal point and will probably play with crop options.. Thanks again..
