That's great to hear! Start taking those practice swings, you'll be back on the course in no time.

Yes, I am a bit relieved to be honest. The next surgery isn't going to be a cake walk. It all "depends" (excuse the pun ) How fast my plumbing that has been disconnected for eight months starts working again. Sorry or me being so frank. I have no secrets. Oh and Mark, I have been taking a few swings in my back yard. My hands, fingers, feet and toes are numb from the side effects of my treatments. I'm dropping everything. The other day I dropped a jar of 1000 island dressing and it broke all over the place. That's why I haven't been doing any shooting lately. I'm afraid I might drop one of my lenses or worse yet my camera.

Good for you, Erik! That's great news! I know a bit about the plumbing routine, having had a few of my 38 kidney stones over the past 15 years removed the hard way... you lose any sense of vanity in a hurry! The main thing is getting your system back to normal, and that will be quite a relief... er... pun NOT intended! Best of luck on your procedure.

Erik,

Being new here I was a bit unaware of your battle. Congratulations on being such a fighter and reaching this milestone!

One of my favorite photos is the High Prairie one I posted in the Best of PNWNP 2007 thread. One of the reasons I like it is that the property I was standing on is owned by a friend who has battled melanoma for the past 6 years. We talked about taking this photo in 2006, but despite multiple surgeries and heavy chemotherapy the cancer was winning and his prognosis was pretty dark at the time. I wasn't sure we'd ever get to take the photo.

He joined an experimental drug trial in late 2006 and responded well. The short of the long story is that He and I were able to head to his property last June, allowing me to take a photo with a lot more value and meaning because he was there when I took it.

I'll look forward to your future photographs, especially now knowing the journey that led up to them.

John

Erik - congrats on your making it all the way through that long and laborious time. You're a winner in your battle against cancer and might I say a great example to others in how you've conducted yourself during this period of time.

Tough going, Erik; way to hang in! I hope the numbness wears off. I'm gonna think of you taking more and more practice swings as we all move toward Spring. And photos! Will eagerly await your first post after all this time. Bleesings to you.

Erik,
Yay! It's been a long long 12 months, dude. Delighted to hear your news today! Whooo hoooooo!
Hope your re-connection works smooooothly! Yikes -- that brings back bad memories of Rick's ordeal. Well, anyway, I am so happy to hear such great things.
This does motivate me to go for a check up and not ignore a couple things.

YOU ARE AWESOME!
Hope we hook up soon.
