Cool image Andy :toast:

Could perhaps do with a touch more of USM - what iso were you using?
Posted by Andy Bate on January 9, 2008 at 9:13 AM
ISO 250, im sure there is something wrong with my D2xs seems very noisey!!!

Nice shot. The water droplets give a real impression of the wave breaking over his back.

Hmm my D2X is fine to ISO400 ish, and useable to 800, what raw developer did you use?
I like the image, but i think it could be a little wider?

In other words Camera Raw???

Why on earth aren't you using Nikons own?

ViewNX it's called and it's a free download from Nikon - you'd be as well downloading Nikon Transfer too, which is free aswell.

Excellent shot Andy, I like the green sheen on the head and the wave action really lifts this picture

Nice action and love the water. Seems to need some selective USM round the eye

Andy B, i'm not a huge fan of ACR, i tend to find it makes images look more gritty than they should be. May i recommend you try the trial version of Capture one 4 or maybe Capture NX?

Sharpness doesn't bother me with this as the action is the most important factor. Great timing and really nice to see a tufty struggling (in a good way) in choppy water. All to easy to capture images of the pond ducks on mirror calm water! :toast: :toast:
