I have recently acquired a Canon Powershot G9 for those occasions when SLRs are too bulky or even unwelcome. I read with interest the NPN article on this camera and wondered if there were any processing tips that would help me get the very best from this camera?
My software: Photoshop CS3, Lightroom v1.3
The article has persuaded me that this little black number is well worth getting to know well. Here in the UK - many photographers are being treated as potential criminals for just taking photos with a professional looking camera. Compacts and camera phones don't seem to attract the same level of suspicion.
There's lots and lots of discussion of the G9, RAW processing its images and more over at Luminous Landscape. I didn't find any articles or reviews (other than for the related G7), but a search will produce pages and pages (and pages) of links to discussions.

Hmmm. That's interesting. I know they had trouble last year with a bunch of spam from new signups, so they must have added hoops. I've been on there so many years that I guess I missed all the sign-up "fun."

Sorted now. Just paying visits to get a 'feel' for the forum. First impressions of the camera are good - but the noise is quiet apparent in low light situations. I'm sure with the right settings, can be reduced though.
