A Snowbow!
Driving along I-70 near the Copper Mountain exit, the wind was really strong, with snow blowing off the peaks up by Mayflower Gulch. I think this "rainbow" was created by the snow/ice crystals in the air. Never seen anything like this before so I thought I would share.

Welcome to the world of sun dog photography! Chances are, there was a mirror image of this at 180 degrees, although sometimes they disappear into the clouds and whatnot.

Yep, not a bow but part of a halo. Probably 46 degrees. Very cool--dont always see a good spectrum like that!

Sundog this time, last time it was anticrepuscular rays, if nothing else a guy can get a good weather terminology education around here, thanks everybody.

Didn't see any other part of the halo though, even up on Vail Pass where I had a good field of vision. I wish I would have had a better lens ( shot with a 17-40) and a polarizer, there was a lot more color even just looking through my sunglasses.
