I am preparing for an Art Jury and it's the first I have done which requests either a CD of images or them sent by email. I used a Fuji 5.1 megapixel camera for the images I intend to use. Does anyone know what the proper pixels size would be for a jury like this? Should I send 600 X ?? or what? There are no limitations or specifications on the application. Suggestions?
When I've run into this situation--where specific submission guidelines are wanting--I've always contacted someone connected with the exhibition/contest to ask for guidance. I've received everything from very specific parameters to (I'm not kidding) "anything that will allow us to see the images decently."
I do lots of juried events, and the exhibition/contest folks are generally very specific - but not always. As Guy said, check first. Lacking any real guidance, try this:
As a general rule for submitting a CD of images when no other guidelines are specified, I size them as close to 5"x7" as possible at 300. This allows for a nice image on most screens without being overwhelming.
Very few places want to receive email photos, but again, if no guidelines are specified, I would send them no larger than 600mp on the longest side at 72 and a file size (for each image) NO LARGER than 200 MB.
Sending the CD is the far better route. Good luck.

I definitely second Guy's recommendation.
