Hello everyone since Moab is the destination of choice for our trip. I thougth I would share an image from my trip out west this fall. It was my first time there. I only shot in the area a short time and planned to come again (when fall color wasn't happening) This is mesa arch in canyonlands NP. Any comments or critque is appreciated.

Rob said it the best, great light and detail. The light on the underside of the arch gives the impression thats it's on fire. Nice work Gale!

Nice job reeling in the dynamic range of this scene - it really is a classic. There seems to be a little dark blue blob above the arch. How many photographers shared the experience with you? And what time of year was this?

Gale, great capture, the underside of the arch seems to be on fire! Is this an HDR blend and if so how many shots did you blend?

Fantastic! Great detail. As Tim asked, is this a HDR blend image?

Great shot Gale. I think I could list a dozen different things about this that I like.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Tom and Larry I do believe this is blended, sorry it's been since Oct since I processed it. Tim it was around the 1st of Oct 07, there were about 15 tripods at mesa arch. I think all but of them except 3 including me were from the US. Which pretty much is the norm, tourist from other countries outweigh US tourist. I love the west so much to shoot.

The radiant warm tones under the arch look fantastic!
Great shot of Mesa Arch, this is one of my favorite takes of it.

Gale,

I only have two nits with this image.

#1 - The already mentioned black spot above the arch.
#2 - I don't have a shot like this one yet :frown:

Just kidding, its a great image, with good light and dynamic range, plus maintained details as mentioned. Strong composition of a gorgeous place.
