Taken tonight as the sun was getting pretty low.
I loved what the clouds and light were doing over the river....
Camera: Nikon D300
Exposure: 1.6 sec (8/5)
Aperture: f/14

Very dramatic. I love the sky also. This just needs some minor touch-ups with attention to details. There is some pretty noticeable haloing around the river that catches my eye. If you brightened the whole river more evenly it might work better IMO.

Very cool, Darren!

I think the haloing around the river is a natural phenomenon. But I really like the image and comp. Does it lose anything if the whole image is just a stop lighter? Now that you have capture NX, you could experiment with the color control point and ever so slightly lighten the land form in the lower left hand corner. The sky is great.

I like the sky Darren, but the FG seems a little too dark to me. I too do notice the haloing along the river and the left side under the orange cloud. The sky is awesome though!

Nice sky. I don't have any idea where this is, but with the dark tones I could be convinced it is a high sub alpine lake.
