Hi All,
Yet another try at Landscapes from me, this time of Anstey's Cove about 5 miles from my house. Thanks to Dave Clapp for his blending techniques which is how this image was created.
Techs:
Nikon D2X, 28-100MM, tripod, m-up, remote, two exposures: 2 secs at F16 (sky) and 15secs at F16 (foreground)
Good to see you're sticking at the landscapes. Here are my thoughts: The blending could do with a bit more work. It looks uneven in a few areas - for example the cliff edge is very dark along the top and the sea looks overly bright on the right hand side. On the composition I like how the image is split from corner to corner but it could do with more to help lead the eye around the scene. There are large areas of darkness that don’t contain anything interesting. I'd be tempted to simply get much closer to the sea - if you're not getting wet your not close enough

Good one Tristan I have had a bash at sea stuff and I could have got a much better shot with some getting wet, but bottled it really....and wanted to protect my kit a bit. Looks like it needs some CW rotation too? You've seen my efforts at landscapes Chris so you know I can't offer much, but it doesn't grab me as such. Can't particularly say why though. Sorry mate Keep at it, it's far better than my attempts
Personally I wouldn’t' worry about getting a little wet as long as the camera doesn’t get dunked. My 5d has been totally coated in sea spray many times and never had any problems - just keep wiping it off. The second pic here was taken just a couple of mins after the first ... opps.
