Green Beach (+ Repost)
I am now downloading all my images from the last 2 weeks in Kauai. Prior to this trip I had spent very little time doing any photography at the beach for landscapes. It was nice to immerse myself in it the last couple weeks (pun intended) and literally I got soaked from time to time. I must say it was kind of nice leaving before sunrise in winter with only a tank top, shorts, and sandals feeling plenty warm. As crazy as it may sound though I am not a person that likes really warm or hot weather for extended periods. The cool damp air was refreshing to breathe back in upon my return.

Not the most vibrant sunset here since I was facing more East than West on this one. I was at this beach for one evening only so most images focus more on the moss and water than the sky. This beach really drew me in though, with this large area of rocks covered in some of the most vibrant almost florescent green moss I have seen. I have a number of comps but I like this one for the flow of water. Let me know what you think of it?

Thanks for all comments!

I like this Adrian..... I would almost like to see it a little darker or with more contrast... the greens in this are really neat..

Nice shot. I like how the colors compliment each other. I also would like to see a more dramatic effect...but that is my own personal preference. I've noticed a similar water-color effect, in terms of soft pastel-like colors and lack of contrast in other photos you've submitted. I wonder if that is not due to an artistic decision.

I did not think it was suffering much from lack of contrast but after playing with it a bit I see that it could use more. Jay, thanks for the feedback in general about my work. I probably could play with it somewhere as contrast is something I tend to notice later that it could have used a bump that I forgot to give it.

Adrian, I like both versions of your image. You achieved a really nice painterly effect. And fwiw, I like it much more with a lot less sky... Again, perhaps personal preference more than anything; then again, the qualities of the sky don't seem to fit well with how dreamy the bottom 2/3 of the image is... That's the part that sends me!

I like the greens in this and the motion of the water. A crop just below the cloud line looks good to me, the sky seems like a separate image from the water cascading through green.

Unusual Adrian, I agree with Catherine on the painterly effect. My preference is for the second one.

I love it, the colors, comp, wave action.... Very nice image and the extra contrasts helps a lot! Nice one.

What I like best is this is an image from Hawaii that doesn't look like an image from Hawaii. And I LOVE Hawaii!! Very cool image Adrian!!
