Hello chaps, i recently went to the moors and had a great mornings photography, i noticed that when i printed a copy of this image the printed image was real flat and lacked colour were as the image on the screen was viberante . I use an epron r1800 and dont use cheap inks the paper was fuji. Does my printer need calaberating or has anybody have other ideas.
Thanks Lewis

Yes I would say profiling your monitor and printer are totally mandatory if you want to go down the home printing route. This certainly doesnt look flat on my profiled monitor. Nice shot, I would like the pathway on the right hand side corner in the frame more central, to make me feel like I could walk along it.

Hi David nice image though it looks a tiny bit soft. Images on a screen are always brighter than on a sheet of paper IMHO.

I dont know anything about home printing but I like your image. I have agree with David about the path being positioned more to the left but otherwise its a nice shot with good light and colour. Tristan

You need to calibrate your monitor if you haven't already. I have not found calibrating the printer to be neccessary for my setup, although you need to make sure you are using the correct paper profiles etc. I would recomend the Luminous Landscape videos "from camera to print", which explain just about everything you need to know.
