I was up at Mayflower Gulch yesterday and even though conditions were not favorable I came away with this shot. I waited it out for about an hour and finally decided that the clouds were not going to lift over the ridge. I left a half hour before sunset when it started to snow, by the time I got back to the car the whole area was socked in and it looked like this was as good as it ever got. I'll have to try again later.

Randy, I think this is a pretty cool image. I would crop the top half maybe an inch or so above the cabin roof. I don't think the top half really contributes to the overall image. I like the arragnement of the trees on the right and the percieved "S" curve from the lower right corner, left around the depression and hill in the lower part and then winding up to the cabin.

Awesome image Randy! I think your waiting paid off. It almost looks more like a telephoto shot that one at 50mm. Love the compressed look.
Was the road up fairly packed down already? Looks like the snow up there is perfect!

Randy I am rescinding my previous post! I kept seeing this in my head after logging out. It is awesome just as is!

I like this one a lot. A great shot and even though conditions may not have seemed "ideal" to you, the photo really worked out quite well.

Nice Randy. I like the soft afternoon light and the lines to the drifts.
I might boost the contrast to the rocks at the low end of the slope to emphasize the transition into the clouds.
I like the inclusion of the clouds over the ridge, it emphasizes the isolated feeling of the cabin.
Cool!

Excellent image. Wow that's a lot of snow. I llike all the snow on the roof. A fire would be nice.

I like the composition. That's gott'a be a tough exposure, though, trying to capture both tonal extremes. This image says "cover shot" all over!

Great shot! I would consider cropping somewhere (top or bottom), so the cabin is not in the center. Thanks for sharing.

A really nice winter scene. The centering of the cabin on the vertical axis does bother me a bit. I would crop some off the top as the snow contours on the bottom are what makes the image for me.

I agree that this is a very pleasing scene. I especially like how the mountain just fades into the clouds at the top.
