Cuyahoga Valley NP Winters Past
I used to live pretty close to the park, and since I've become a legal NPN member I thought I'd share a couple of images with you.

Ritchie Ledges in the Virginia Kendall area.

Horseshoe Pond.

I remember it snowed that night and there was some lake effect snow on the way, as I could tell by the dark clouds above the trees. C&C welcome. Thanks.

I like your POV on the first image, Jeff, looking up at the wall with the snow making it easier to see the numerous layers of the stones.

The second one is one of my favorite types of winter scenes...pine tree loaded with snow. The cloud cover makes for nice exposure on the snow.

Nice images, Jeff. Congratulations on your new membership. I like that view of Horseshoe Pond -- the threatening clouds give it a lot of character.

I was out hiking at the Ledges this weekend. We had a big storm come through early last week (winds 70+mph) and it took it's toll on some of the older trees. A number were completely uprooted. I was especially disheartened by the loss of possibly the largest hemlock in the park (near the old stone staircase). It was completely sheared off about 30 up. :frown: Hope that type of weather isn't a harbinger of things to come.

Thanks for the comments, I miss the place also, along with my other favorite place the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. Oh yeah, there's family too  .

Nice images, Jeff. I like the second one the best, but both are nice.

Thanks for sharing.
