All landscape photographers know about Delicate Arch, The Wave, The Subway and other western US photographic icons.

But we have some pretty iconic scenes here in the Southeast too.

Post some of your "icon" images to this thread.

I'll start.

BTW Thomas thanks for inspiring this thread with your image of this same location in different weather conditions!

Great idea Matthew!

How bout Cumberland Falls, it might qualify.

Wow Thomas that is a killer image.

I can't say I am familiar with Cumberland Falls, although clearly I ought to be. . .

What I have in mind is places where lots of landscape photographers go and photograph. And Cumberland Falls seems to qualify for that. . .

OK! Another photog needs to send me a royalty check for my Roan "three rocks" shot!

This is not my 1st image that I published here with this comp, it was a large-format shot about 6 years ago. But this is my favorite of all!

Yours is really nice! You've got Rhodies peeking out all over the place. . .

Here's the LF version that was the first that I know of shot with this comp, showing all three rocks.

Well since there seems to be a theme here

Hey, when do I get my checks? Thomas, that's two of them and that's going to hurt the pocket book!

How bout this one? Not sure if it's an "icon" or not but there are a lot of images floating around.

I think it deserves iconic status. I call it the "Tremont Bend".

Enough mountains how about some coast! Here is a coastal dune. Our big sandy beaches are pretty iconic, at least I think they are.

Some really awesome shots here though, I can't wait until spring to get out there and do some exploring. :jump:
