Lonesome Lake AMC Hut is one of the most accessable backcountry cabins in the White Mountains. This past weekend, I chapperoned a group of high school students with our outing club up to the hut for a winter overnight.
The weather was perfect (perhaps a bit too perfect with nearly clear skies), the kids were enthused, and I took a new route to the hut that I can't wait to get back to on a cloudy or foggy spring day (the basin-cascades trail is practically a waterfall for a mile).
I snapped this as a parting shot, of the kids hiking out over the lake, with the Franconia Ridge in the background. It was great to be out!

Jim...looks like a great time. I can almost remember hiking the Catskill Mtns when in high school with a club. Good memories for sure. Hiking the hills is a good oulet for all that teenage energy and enthusiasm. Glad you had the added benefit of finding a "new" photographic destination.
