I am a retired engineer living in Memphis and have dabbled in photography for most of my life. Have even participated in several of Tim Ernst's workshops. Most of my current activities will be from Reelfoot to the Smokey Mtns. Have spent a moderate amount of time in NW Arkansas which I consider one of the more beautiful areas in the world. Was very active in canoeing for over 20 years-a lot of it with Tom Kennon. A small group of us floated the entire length of the Buffalo way back in the last century.
I like sunrises and sunsets so lets start out with a sunset from Morton's Overlook in the Smokies. Hope I posted it correctly!

Welcome Louis! It's great to have some Smokey Mountain blood in the group, and we won't hold it against you if you've taken some of Tim E's workshops .
That's a nice photo you've posted - I'm really looking forward to seeing more from that part of the country.

Hey Lou, glad to have you on board. I really like the mood in this shot. Was this a pano or did you crop it? Send us some more to look at!

Louis,
I like the crop of this and the placement of the sun and the mountain intersection. Morton's is a great place to shoot sunsets and you've handled it well.

Tom-that is a crop. Glenn,William-thanks for your favorable comments. I am going to Knoxville next week to visit my grandson who is at UT. planto spend at least one day at Cades Cove with my photo equipment, binoculars, and a lawn chair.
Louis welcome to the forum. You did an great job on the sunset. I am going to have to remember this spot. I haven't done any photography out east and this would be a great place to go. I look forward to more from TN.

Welcome, Louis. Lovely first post. I used to float the Buffalo several times a year, then I got married and had kids and the canoe rarely got put to use.
