This is a Tiger Grouper getting himself cleaned up at a cleaning station - ie a recognized spot on a coral reef where fish which provide this service live. The grouper is about 2.5 feet long and very thick. It is normally a deep red colour with vertical stripes but changes to this very light shade to signify its readiness to be cleaned and that it will be non-aggressive. It stayed like this for about 10 minutes and wasn't bothered by me at all. The strange brown patches on the right are rust because that is the side of an uptuned wreck. Wondered about getting rid of them....?

Beautiful! What a lovely shot. I have never dived let alone shot images underwater so I have no clout here but the upturned wreck doesn’t spoil the image for me.

Good image Jim-Might at some more contrast to it-Like the gapping mouth (female? ) and cleaner fish-Good work

A cracker. And the brown spots just go to prove its not a tank shot, leave them.

Fantastic detail and a wonderful shot Jim :toast: :toast: :toast:
Leave the rust imo, looks just fine as it is. I've just made a nice cup of tea and going to have a good look through your website

Great shot, I love the way that all the interest from the other fish is focussed around the mouth and the colours are great. Don't lose the rust, it lives on a wreck for goodness sake!
I think we can get obssessed with tidying up the world that our subjects are living in. A visiting martian, looking at our pictures would think we hadn't ruined it yet!!
