Hi to all,
Not been out much lately , very poor weather being the main reason , no excuse I know , so here's a shot of a Water vole from last march , any thoughts on the area around the vole would be appreciated , does it give a sense of enviroment or does it just look untidy.
Can't remember the techs as the drive this image was on failed and this was the only image we managed to salvage and all the exif data seems to have been losted.
ps thanks to Tom and Nick for looking into my log on problems earlier today , cheers guys.

Cheers Nick , yes , not sure what the problem was , I'd log in and the welcome screen would appear but the the turquoise bar would still be showing that I hadn't logged in , hopefully this is now sorted
Regards

Nice capture Andrew I feel the surroundings is a bit busy for me.

Well done on getting a photo of such an elusive animal, and it's nice to see feeding. It does look untidy, but it also gives a sense of environment/habitat!. It's only really the bright stems and ash twigs that detract.

A difficult subject to say the least and you have captured it well. However I agree with the above comments about it being busy.

I like the image and i think it is important to show habitat, I think nature photography is not always about a pristine subject but also the enviroment that it lives in.

Indeed a bit busy but you didn't have a choise. I like it a lot. Over here rats are not the most popular animals but from up close they are rather nice looking.
Well done.

This is a lovely shot, IMO it isn't that busy, if that grass stalk wasn't over its face the shot would be bang on IMHO.

Rats Edwin???? You'll get lynched over here calling the nations favourite small mammal a rat.
Nice shot Andy, they are really hard to get with an uncluttered background. They are always tucked in the vegetation, which is one reason why I think Danny's shot of the vole in the pipe was so successful. He had found a way of making the vole stand out from its surroundings. The ash twig is the biggest distraction, I could live with the rest. Eric
