Hard to say goodbye!
Grabbed this shot last week, with my new {second hand} 400mm lens.

My intention was/is to replace my 400mm/2.8 with this 400mm/3.5, as the weight of the 2.8 becomes very noticable towards the end of a day's wanderings {especially if i am also lugging my 300mm/4 with it}.

Although the 3.5 is more versatile for me personally, i'm finding it extremely difficult to stick to my original plan {and sell my trusty 2.8}.

Ive been trying very hard to convince my self that i should keep the heavy beast {and have thought of a huge number of dodgy reasons why i should}, but if i think sensibly about it, i know i should part with it {with a tear in my eye}.

Anyway, i shall sleep on it for a few more nights, and hopefully the mist will clear

'never say never' is my motto Mike  , although i fear i would miss the use of auto-focus with these MF lens's, if i went the 4/3 route

Great shot Alan. The 3.5 will be a load lighter to lug around and that will be the telling factor. You will probably find yourself leaving the 2.8 at home more and more.
