Taken yesterday morning whilst i was in the Jura mountains,The weather has turned mild and the hoped for snow ended up as rain so i found a couple of swans on a large frozen lake and stayed with them for a couple of hours,This guy didnt like to walk on the ice at all and slid everywhere whereas the other one had problems whatso ever

This is nice. Like the way you captured him look towards the ice. Can just imagine him saying “What the hell is this?”.

Yes, that ice has certainly got his attention Dave - works nicely

It's a good one Dave. You seem to excel at the Swan images. A difficult exposure that you've got perfectly.
Almost mono, and the splash of red from the beak, along with the wingspread, makes a very eyecatching image

Cool pose and great exposure Dave. Some CW rotation needed here?

Superb exposure Dave and a great shot in every way, I thought that is was a little crooked as well, but I think that as the birds wings are level, it may pay to leave it alone. If you've got a sloping lake, just use it for water skiing. Eric
Really nice, and the exposure has been handled well, can't make my mind up whether the slope is an optical illusion or not.....

Hi Phil
At first i thought it looked strange but as always i use a level on the hotshoe so it shouldnt be on a slope, I think the swan having one foot slightly in front of the other gives the illusion-the wings look straight as is the bright line running through the centre of the image-will crop it and see if it looks any better
