Nice view Darren, the dusting of snow brings detail in shadows. Cliff

I like this Darren - it's different, and I even like the light showing through the trees - it helps accentuate sort of a fan motion that starts at the base of the falls. Where is this? I think I've seen summer shots that you've taken of this falls..?

Hi Tom,

I have only shot this one other time and it was in the spring I think...but at that time there was about 10 percent of the water that is there now......

This is Big Tree Creek Falls up in Yacolt, WA. on Weyerhaeuser property. No motorized vehicles allowed but you can walk back there......they don't mind!

If anyone can figure how to safely get to the bottom of this waterfall, I would love to know!

Thanks!

I was just going to ask that question! It looks pretty hemmed in. The picture I'm thinking of was with much less water, and taken from closer to the lip of the falls, is that right?

I have deleted all my 2007 images off my computer but I did take one like you mention......did it look like this...

and let me just say for the record.....I could have died....the rocks were slippery from the moisture and the light dusting of snow did not help any.....but I do like the view from up there!!!

Yep, that's the one! Love those rocks and how the stream is channelized as it hits the falls. I'll definitely have to make a trip up there! Thanks, Darren.

The first shot is nice, but the second, from the top looking over the edge, really makes an impact. It must be the thin coating of icy snow on mossy rock - I can see you could have cratered from up there! Nice work.
