When I see prints on various websites offered for sale with mats, does that mean it comes with a mounting board or just a mat hinged to the print?

Thanks for the info.

I doubt there's any standard. Best to ask the individual photographer directly. We offer both types (and others), but it's one of the specifications clients make when ordering, and yes, there is a price difference.

Usually it comes with a mounting board, ready to fit into a frame.

I sell matted, signed images in clear bags at a couple vendors and they are mounted on 1/4 inch foamcore or on matboard and ready to drop into whatever frame the client wants to buy. The lab doing my printing charges for that service and the prints come already mounted if I ask for that, and the price does vary depending on the mounting medium.

I don't offer that on my Web site, but if I did you can bet I'd specify it somewhere. Guess you're left with, as Hank said, contacting the photographer to find out.

All my matted images are drymounted on Foamcore.
