Hi to all,
Bittern , photographed yesterday morning , managed to grab this shot just before some chap in the hide slammed the door causing the bird to fly off , 2 hours of waiting from before sun up for very little time with the bird , some people just don't realise how skittish Bittern's actually are , the slightest sound and there gone , maybe next time eh
A bit big in the frame I know , should have taken the 300mm aswell
Levels , Usm(100,0.5,0 x1) , S/h in CS2 , converted in DPP , Full frame.
Nice shot but I would watch the palest stripe up its neck if you increase contrast - maybe do it in curves where you have more control so you don't blow it

An excellent shot Andrew. Extraordinary patterns in the plumage. An amazing bird and the eye is unbelievable.

That's a great shot. I'd be interested to see the repost as it looks a bit bright to me, maybe just knock the levels back a bit? Eric

I'd love a shot of one of these.
I think any shot of these birds is a credit to the photographer.

Nice shot and I agree with Eric about the brightness.. It's a pity about how inconsiderate some people can be.
