Only managed approx 1hour of photography today.
Combination of poor light and keeping grandson happy.
Nipped off this afternoon to a site where I had seen Barn Owl flying in the afternoon previously. It paid off as the bird arrived about 15 mins of me arriving.
D2x's + 600mm AFS II + 1.4 conv.
Gitzo + wimberly and bag hide down the side of a ditch.
ISO 400
1/125 @ f5.6
Exp Mode Manual.
Ex Comp 0EV.
Meterimg Matrix.
Colour Space Adobe RGB.
Tone Comp Auto.
WHite Balnce Flash Auto( Doh left it on flash in error)
Not too shabby for 1 hrs photography-Nicely composed-Quite like the weed in the foreground but would just as good without it-As it is i think it gives balance
Nice

Did leave the weedy bit on purpose Dave & Alan as I felt it gave a bit more to the composition.
realised though that it would probably be 50/50 for or against as its a personal thing.

Lovely shot. I like the weedy part. Everyone was out today except me (The wind and rain put me off).

Absolutely wonderful Major. I like the dark background and the foliage is an asset for me as it gives a sense of the height that the owl is flying at as well as balancing the picture. Eric
