For those of you machine calibrating your monitors, what gamma, color temperature, and luminance do you calibrate to? I'm curious to see if there is a consensus. For myself, I've been using 2.2, 5500 k, and 120 lum on a windows machine/lcd monitor.

Also, do you use different setting for prints vs. web, or do you use the same for both? I find that 5000 k and 80 lum match prints (from White House Custom Color) better.

John, I use a Mac and have relied on the advanced calibration sequence built into the system software. But here's something that I've done to sort of hedge on the settings, since they don't always look quite right to me: I've opened a few images while in the calibration mode, and used them as a background check to see if the various calibration steps are in the ballpark. I don't do it numerically, though I suppose I could. I'm definitely clueless on the math aspects of monitor calibration. But I do know when it isn't right..!
