Winter in Yellowstone
I finally had the opportunity to get out and shoot on Saturday. A group of us locals (Idaho Falls ID) chartered a snowcoach to take us through Yellowstone. It snowed most of the time with lots of bland cloud cover, but here are a few images from the trip.

and some ice formations.

My friend and I were talking about lenses during this trip and we were wondering if anyone out there is using the Canon 70-200 2.8 IS lens with a 2X on a regular basis, and what the results are. Thanks.

Man those are some sweet shots. Is #3 lower yellowstone falls? If so, that looks wild in the winter.

Nice! I really like that bison portrait with the blowing snow; it provides some energy to what is normally a static shot. All are really nice!

Those falls in the winter are quite a sight!
On our trip we enjoyed watching otters playing on the river below.

Redarding the 2x TC. I don't know of anyone regularly using the 2x on any of the zooms. Heck, I only use it as a last resort on the primes. There is a noticeable decrease in image quality over the 1.4x, so it's more of a "last resort" for me.

All are nice, but the bison image is my favorite.
