Still trying to figure out my winter scenes - this is Little Zigzag Falls this afternoon. Lots of snow up there, and some beautiful scenes along the stream that I didn't have time to photograph before it got dark. Processed this as a duotone to keep some blue highlights after removing the very heavy blue cast from the original image.
Very cold up there, but no wind! Most of Hood was suffering gale-force winds, but this little valley seems to be in a wind-shadow. This is a short snowshoe from the where the old highway plowing ends in front of the Kiwanis Camp - room for about 2 cars.
Comments and suggestions appreciated!

I've never been satisfied with any images of this falls I have take but it looks like snow time is the right time! The comp. looks really good.. the ice along the far side is cool. My only dislike is the overall flatness to image, but there isn't much you can do in this sort of lighting..

Beautiful. I love the branching effect of the falls and the ripples in the pool.

I love the detail in the water and ice, but the whole scene feels a tad too busy.

I like this Tom.....if you brighten it up a tad I think it would really jump at you!!!

I like the detail and the white looks perfect. Tough falls to shoot but the angle of the water flowing through the image is attractive. Cloning out some of the horizontal and criss-crossed branches may help with the busy-ness.

I agree on the busy scene - this falls is always kind of a junk pile of debris, though the snow does a good job of hiding some of the clutter along the sides of the stream. Thanks for the comments and suggestions!

The ice and water flow are an interesting contrast.
