I live a short distance from the Garden of the Gods. Sunrise should be excellent in the Garden this morning. Yesterday's snow showers with no wind left about 4-5 inches of fluffy snow in the pine branches.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to head over there. I need to get in to work and have a busy day. Just thought I'd give notice so that anybody who has the time could get there.

Mel,

I was up at 6:00 AM and headed over to the Garden for sunrise. It was a COLD sub zero morning!!! My old trusty 10D didn't freeze up. But I definitely did need the extra batteries I took along with me.

Anyway it was a nice morning. There was some cool fog to the south east that never quite made it into the Garden. While not epic there were a few clouds around the peak and it was good to get out there to see it. If I got anything decent I'll post later tonight after work.

I got up dark and early this morning, drove to the garden got my backpack and Camera out of the Jeep only to realizes that when i went Grocery shopping yesterday, i took my Tripod out and left it in the Garage. ARGH! It was pretty in the garden even before Sunrise. So i went on to work and ended up taking pictures of Tanks and Humvees all day.
