We've had some Bobcats living in our backyard since early summer. Its a mother and two kittens. We've only seen them a few times and I've never been able to get a photo of them, but yesterday they were out and about in the snow. Finally yesterday I was able to get a photo. Its certainly not a good one, but I'm glad to have gotten it regardless.

She is actually posing pretty good!
Now if you can just get her to prance around in the snow with were kittens while you take their picture.

Cool!! I I know the feeling--had a bobcat in my yard in Arcata (CA), saw him licking his paws just outside one day and went running after him to get a photo. He was so well camoflauged you could barely tell the difference between the cat and grass. I turned it into "Photo Art"--which gives me an idea to dig it up, look for it in the gallery in a couple days!

WOW, sure would like to have one of those in my backyard!
Can't wait to see the kittens !!!
Sweet! I was out in the Garden of the Gods in Late November one very early morning and was startled by the growls of two Bobcats who were, ummm in the middle of marital bliss at the moment. I hate walking in on that stuff! Anyway, It was too dark to get a good shot, but my headlamp sure lit them up for myself and two other photogrqaphers to see them. I'd never seen them in the wild before and didn't realize how big they get.

The first one IS one of the kittens. They got a bit bigger since summer. They're almost as big as the adult female now.
The adults we've seen seem to have less of the spot pattern on their sides. I'm pretty sure this is the mother.

That's awesome that you got an image of her. I've got some bad wildlife shots that were basically shot just for the memory of seeing them and being there. I've seen two mountain lions, but zero images.

Wow!! That's REALLY cool Mel. The only thing's I get in my yard are squirrels, birds and occasionally the neighbor's domestic cat.

Way cool! Especially since you were just telling me about them at the shindig. The spot pattern on the young one is really beautiful.

Very cool to see that and have the opportunity to snap off some shots. I keep seeing mountain lion tracks in the area near my place and hope one day to have a photo opportunity of one. From a safe vantage point, of course!!
