I don't know whether I can post an image here or not. This is my first attempt at this forum. Not sure whether I am automatically a member or not.
I see some outstanding images posted here with litle flapdoodle. Looks like fun. Anyway this shot was made a few miles from my door in Clatsop county this morning, if you are curious about what the weather is like on the coast of Oregon. The ice originated as spray below Youngs River falls.
Well, everything works! Now to figure out who my fellow coasters are. . .

Deliciously different! Looks like gnocchi topped by rice noodles! Seriously - Nice ice shot.

Great contrast in textures between the frozen rocks and twigs. Beautiful foreground. I'm not sure the background riverbank is doing anything for the shot. Perhaps cropping down a little would put more emphasis on the main element which is the ice.

RL,
Welcome to the forum and a nice first post. Suprises me that the falls has so much ice. Youngs River falls is where I start my final leg of the hood to Coast. it's a nasty eight miler that has rolling hills and ends up at Lewis and Clark school. I've done that leg eight times.
I agree with Larry. I'm not sure how much this image is worth, but a little off the top and a little off the left helps this one a lot.
Erik, you run within a mile and a half of my house. The falls is in a hole that doesn't get much sun in the winter. When it freezes, I often go there to see what I can find. This spot is a favorite local swimming hole. The alder with the rope swing disappeared in the big blow. It is also a good location to watch salmon spawn in the autumn.

The ice on the branches is very nice. A shot of just those branches might be interesting.
