Taken yesterday on Cannock Chase. This, together with the odd melanistic individual, is the overwhelming colour. I'm told that there's one white in the area but none of the "traditional" ginger/brown. These are`wild deer but are used to seeing people. They're not as approachable as the Bradgate deer though.
As well as both Red and Fallow deer, Cannock Chase has some interesting bird species including Crossbill, Pied Flycatcher, Wood Warbler, Dartford Warbler and Woodlark. A third of the UK Nightjar population breed there as do Long-eared Owls.
Techs: E-510, 300/2.8 + 1.4xTC, ISO 400, 1/400 @ f4. Cropped about 10%.
