Looking to get one after buying the Lee digital starter filter kit for my canon 17-40mm(if this has a bearing on what polarizer would suit).

Any recommendations?

Any help appreciated :toast:

I bought the Jessops circular polarizer 77mm which seems to do the trick for me plus it will also fit my 400 f5.6

Hi Graeme,

It must be a circular as you probably know. I have tried a few over the last year including;

Lee 105mm, B+W 105mm and Hoya Pro 1 77mm (Also got one of those Moose Petterson ones with a warm-up 77mm).

When using the LEE filters especially on wide angles I do prefer the 105mm (the B+W is thinner, so less chance of vigetting, also it is slight better quality too). I only tend to use the 77mm when I’m not using the LEE system.

Graeme - Marumi do and ultra thin 77mm circular polariser the doesn't vignette on my 12-24 and it's optically as neutral as any other I've come across to date so it might be worth a look too.

I use a Lee 105mm polarizer with one slot for a grad. It catches the corners slightly - without space for a grad I think it would be ok at the corners. Expensive thing but you can use it on all lenses you have an adapter for. Tristan
