Coot
Canon 1D2N, 300mm f4 IS x2.0, 1/1250s, f8, iso 250. First sunshine of winter morning.

I've enjoyed the past few days! I had been considering coming to the conference a while ago, but already had a ski holiday booked. Hope you all have a good time.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful and I never thought I would say that about a coot.

Beautifull picture. Nice light and well exposed.

Hi Ian

Lovely colour rendition which helps this photograph make the transition from "record" to "art" in my opinion.

Can't help but think it's a bit central and a bit 'crowded' and therefore I would personally like to see you add a bit more canvas to one end.

Very nice photograph to see

Hi Ian,

What an unusual shot of a Coot. Very nice! I think it’s - mean, moody, magnificent.

Ian

A great shot of what I've found to be a very difficult subject best I've seen.

That is so nice.... have to agree with Barrie that a touch more room would be nice, but PoV, light, and exposure are great...

Beautiful. Can't recall seeing a better coot pic. Great shot of a not particularly photogenic bird, so quite an achievement.

Lovely light well captured turns an everyday bird into a stunner.
