Couple recent images
Since Toni has all the snow, and I don't see myself getting out too much unless something happens, I thought I would share a couple recent images.

The geese photo was taken during a very cold sunrise, and the water image was taken after a few days of rain, and is a 75sec exposure.

Sorry, Robert...I don't mean to hog the snow all to myself.

I love the geese. Perfect lighting and the fog is a nice bonus here, but I'm not sure about the water image. The background is level but the water itself appears to be tilted. Optical illusion?

It's ok, Toni we will surely get another round of snow before spring time, at least we better!

The water has to be optical. I also noticed this, but out of the three different comps I took of the scene they all appear the same way. I have no clue as to why, but the camera was leveled for each image.

What's funny about the geese image was just the day prior to this it was minus ten out with the wind chill, but since it was windy the water didn't freeze and the ducks and geese were carrying on as usual. Well, that night the winds calmed and the water froze so as I was taking the images I kept wondering what they had to be thinking - something like where did the water go comes to mind.

Thanks for the comments

Robert - the geese are nice, but that river/stream image is excellent. Where is that, and what is causing the white streaks? I wish the trees had a tiny bit more detail, but I'm not on a calibrated monitor right now, so.....

Nice job! CJ

Thanks, CJ. The creek image was taken at Cataract and after a couple days of heavy rain. The white streaks are being caused by that foamy stuff that forms when the water level rises rapidly. I'm not sure what it is actually called, but I know this is the frist time I've witnessed swirling water in this location. Considering I have a hundred images from the area in all types of weather this could be a rare occurence.

Oh, and I think I actually burned down the trees a bit, but I seriously do not recall. There is plenty of detail to be brought out if I wish to do so before I make a print of it though.

AH - now that you orient me I know exactly where you were for the creek shot. I don't recall ever seeing swirling water there either, but then I've never seen the water this high at that location. Knowing where this is, I'll reinforce my former comment - VERY nice job!
