This morning I spend some time getting a decent shot of the Squirrel. I'm quite happy about this one. Do you like the square comp? I know about the tail but this is almost full frame. The distance to the Squirrel is about 2,5 meters.

Superb detail, colours and foreground. I've nothing against the crop at all, but if it had just got the whole of th etail in, as you say, it would be perfect for me. he's a real beauty. Eric

Gloriously detailed, tack sharp and beautiful colours - lovely subject
I don't know Edwin, you're not loosing your Dr.Doolittle touch are you - the 'pick your tail up' thought waves not getting through to the little darling
I hate square pictures - they smack of indecision
Seriously nice image matey but .....................

Hi Edwin
Superb detail, great BG and log it's sitting on. I quite like your square format, when they come this close you take the shot!
I think the composition works extremely well. I not knowledgeable enough to know if the tail 'should' be in a shot like this but it certainly doesn’t bother me or detract from the image that it is cropped. The detail really is amazing! Tristan

I don't think that the tail is a major issue - the eye contact and detail are superb - just look at those claws!
