Wave Hello with two...ahem, reposts ;)
Went to the coast yesterday. It was fairly rainy, no light, but the waves were impressive to say the least. This was about 90 minutes before high tide, shot at 18mm (crop to 75 percent of the original), and an indicator to move to higher ground as this one naerly came up and kissed me

Not working for me, Rick! but the motion of the water is nice.

Darren, thanks for the comment, really. I agree. There was no light at all. If there was, this would be one killer image. I was just practicing my wave timing and scouting out locations to come back to.

I like your second one much better Rick. Did you have the company with you that you mentioned? I hope so....

Nice capture of surf impacts. Be careful when playing tag with the waves. I got caught on the wrong side of the Peter Iredale this morning. That was interesting.

Rick, I do like the second one better........have you played around with any infrared stuff

Ned, Yes...the company was awesome. We had a great time.
Robert, that looks like a nasty place to be tossed around
Darren, I haven't really played with infrared...but my daughter bought me a book on it and I've been meaning to. How 'bout you?

Hey Rick,

I'm done with the lurker thing - recent projects are done. Back to the board...

#3 is the one for me. And B&W makes all the better...Did you see any snow over there today?

Kevin

Yep, the last one is a killer!

The last one takes the cake! It has intense detail and the strong contrast is awesome. I wonder if one could make some microscapes from the small falls with a telephoto lens?

Thanks for the comments. I cant wait till I hit this spot (*third image)when the water is hit with sunset light!
Kevin, good to "see" you again buddy. There wasnt snow, but it was 35 degrees and raining hard. On the way here though, there were cars in the ditch along the way.

I just got back from the greenhouse... Wave abstracts - what a concept!! Yep, the third one is the best, but I like where you are going with the first. Keep on working this concept and you'll get some elegant stuff.

Rick, I love the almost abstract action in the second image. I'd work on getting more contrasts and textures out of the brighter areas there.

#2 is really interesting with the different waves and spray. #3 is killer also.

Mark me down for #3 as well Rick, that's a cool photo. I agree that good light will make these rock even more.

Looks like you captured some intensity of nature to contemplate on. All of them are fine, but I'd mark #3 as the only one portfolio bound.

#3 is really sweet. I like what's going on in #1, and if you could pull some detail and contrast out of the rocks, and create some separation of highlights and midtones in the water, I think that one would sing as well.

I like where you're going with idea on the waves, Rick. That's very cool. I'll be watching for more.
Sure like #3! Like everyone says, that one is "killer!"
