I've gone all 'arty' again darlings

After a fruitless 'birdy' foray yesterday afternoon I was on my way back home when I saw the remnants of a nice sunset in the sky.

All I had with me was the D300 and the big gun, so I pulled into a lay-by, threw up the Gitzo and grabbed this as best I could.

Would have looked better at 100iso on the D2Xs I'm certain - still, you can only use what you've got to hand

Techs:
D300
300-800mm @ 700mm
ISO 200 (I really don't like the 0.3 to 1.0 iso quality)
Meter:Spot
1/1000th @ f10
PC Mode: Normal
NR:2
Sharpening:2

Hey, I've got to start somewhere

As always, many thanks for looking folks - any kindly words of hope or encouragement most gratefully received :toast: :toast:

Very nice Andy - a real touch of the Rothko's here (except without the depression  ). Lovely balance of colours and warmth.

I like this one, Andy. Nice warm colours and well divided layers.

Some would say that the Sigmonster isn't an ideal landscape lens, but you've shown that a bit of creative the thinking can work wonders!

Hi Andy,

I must say what an unusual choice of lens for a landscape image. However with a little ingenuity you have produced an image, with an interesting arty sepia feel. The layers certainly are interesting making it a nice abstract image.
