Exposure looks bang on Andy :wavey:

But it does look soft on my monitor mate - sorry to say, and for me, your comp is a bit odd, perhaps some more room left for him to look into.

Fence panels.....bit flash that matey; has it got central heating and a kettle - no good without a kettle to brew up with - mine's 2 sugars:biggrin:

So that's what they're meant to look like

Nice lighting. Can't comment on sharpness on this screen, but I'm curious about your 055/393 combo - does that work OK for you? I tried it but I wasn't convinced... At the moment I've put a Benro head (an Arca-Swiss copy) as a temporary solution while I put some cash aside for a decent head. So far I've been really surprised at how well it works, though I don't think it'll last.

it does, but i am considering a sidekick and am also wondering if this is where my soft images come from as well, its never me!!!! a beanbag on top is prob what i need as well, Mr Astbury had some trouble with his me thinks a while back as well .........

......oh how true :frown:

I used to put a 1lb sandbag on top of the lens when I used the 393 - I used to use it with the lens underslung if you know what I mean and it used to play havoc with a good long glass technique because you have to bend your arm around the frame.

Wimberley 2 arrives - problems gone

Good stuff Andy, but it doesn't look sharp to me either. Once your tripod/head issues are sorted, shots like this'll be spot on.

Hi Andy,

What a lovely bird! I like the composition, the clean background and the perch. Cracking image. Just a shame about the lack of sharpness.
