Hi Andy,

To be honest, you would be better off saving for a decent monitor. You won't get anything as far as I know that is any good for £150. I can recommend a few that I have but they are around the £750 plus mark. Sorry.

wait and save I am no expert but I don't think you'll get much for that money.

Hi Andy,

I am at present using these two monitor's; SpectraView 1990 19" LCD & SpectraView 2090 20" LCD. Both monitor's in my opinion easy to set-up and are good quality, but they do come at a price.

Being a cheapskate (and doing what I do, I have to be!) I've found that at the cheap end Viewsonic are hard to beat.
I have a VA903b (19" LCD) and a VA712b (17" LCD) and they serve me pretty well. Either can be had for under £200! :eek:

Ansy, spending a bit more money will give you a better monitor but spending in the region of £750 is a bit overkill.

A few good monitors in the £350-£500 price bracker are:
HP LP2465. I use this screen and it is very nice. ALternatives are the 24" Dell widescreen, Benq 24" and the Viewsonic 24".

Hi Andy. If you need one immediately then I can't think of many better than Dell's 19" screens and they are in your budget range. If you want larger than 19" then you will need to save a little. A quick search on google with "LCD+monitor+review" throws up a load of on-line reviews. Rene's suggestions are spot on. The EIZOs are lovely but too much dosh. I bought a BENQ FP241W from Amazon and love it. Also checkout the Samsung SyncMaster :wavey:

Hi Andy

To meet your budget, try the Illyama series ;

I got mine from here ;

Illyama Monitors

I bought one as a cheap 2nd monitor (next too my calibrated CRT) and I was stunned with the quality for the price.

If you can save a few more pennies the Eizo's are excellent ;

Eizo Slimedge from Native Digital

5 year warranty as well with the Eizo's.

regards

Sean

Hi Andy,

After a chat with a friend in the pub last night about monitors he said he is using a Dell which is probably more in your price bracket.

Dell SP2008WFP 20-inch Widescreen LCD Flat Panel Monitor

Dell have a sale on at the moment so check it out (He can't quite remember but he thinks he paid about £150-160 for it including delivery).

Hope this helps.
