Taken yesterday while out for a couple of hours on my local reserve, unfortunately they keep getting disturbed by birdwatchers going into the fenced off areas on Sunday there was at least 20 birdwatchers/photographers in their needless to say harsh words were said.
What is really annoying is that you can stand on the foot path and only be 10 metres away and not disturb the birds,I managed to see six longeared owls but this is the only one that because of the constant disturbance decided to sit anywhere near out in the open.

hi phillip,
The behaviour of some of the so called wildlife photographers is down right disgusting, and those of us that uphold the birds wellbeing are being labelled with the rest!!!! bloody annoying.
Great pic by the way.

I have the same isssue with local 'Year Listers' on a wintering site for SEO on the Berkshire downs - the site where they roost is an area of swarthy grass on an area of private horse gallops, yet the idiots walk right through the area flushing the roosting owls, 'because the adjacent footpath is below the hill crown so they cannot see hunting birds perched in the hawthorn bushes' doh!!!!
I wouldn't mind but 90% of these so called 'ornithologists' have no clue whatsoever as to the behaviour of the birds they watch

Very nice image
I'd better not say anything against birdwatchers because I'll be relying on them for the exact whereabouts of the Dartford Warblers and Woodlarks on Cannock Chase

Super capture Phillip - glad to see you've posted it
Ordinarily I'd be moaning about OoF twigs but somehow they don't seem to bother one iota here - nice one

The branches don't bother me - in fact they provide a bit of a frame. Nice.

Hi Phillip,
Nice to see that you were still able to get a decent image despite the certain individuals (there’s always one isn’t there). It reminds me of what Tom has written at the bottom of all of his posts;
'There are many things in this world that are common; one of them isn't sense.'

Hi Phillip,
A great shot and the green branches frame it perfectly, but I have to disagree about the Oof branches. I think that it would be even better without the pale one in front of the ears and near perfect for me without the one behind the head. As I say their removal would only make a great shot even better though. Eric.
