You're certainly racking up a good score of quality flight images Alan. I thought these Mk3s were crap at focussing on moving targets? Has yours been updated? Sorry if you've already answered that and I've missed it. Eric

Eric - I had the "fix" done, and my 1d3 is awesome. It stays locked on when taking flight shots, and only looses focus when i cant keep the subject on the focus point lol.But when its back on the focus point it focuses straight away(very fast aswell).
Static or taking a subject moving towards me, it stays in focus with no searching
Plus i must add, i've left all the custom functions in standard. The only one i've changed is where the AF-ON button on the back does the focusing, NOT the shutter button.
I love it
